Are you ready for
#ATrial Period?
Christine is here to walk you through each step of sewing your own reusable period pads from anywhere in the world. By following this guide, you’ll not only take control of your period care but also contribute to a more sustainable future.
Let’s get started!

Note: If you do not have a sewing machine, here’s a guide from Action Aid, UK, to help you out!

Step 0A: To begin, please download the free-to-use patterns designed by Luna Wolf

Then, print, cut out, and select the pattern that suits you best!

Step 0B: Choose a pad size

Step 0C: Now, let’s gather the following:

  • Scissors and pins
  • Pens to mark fabrics, a ball pen or soft pencil will do
  • Cut out the pattern you have chosen
  • Pre-washed flannelette, 100 % cotton for the topper
  • Pre-washed 100% natural fabric e.g. quilting cotton for the backer
  • PUL for the waterproof layer
  • Pre-washed fabric for the core, e.g. terry cloth, flannelette, 100% natural fibre
  • Sewing thread. You will need cotton and polyester sewing thread to make your pads compostable as well as functional
  • Snaps or buttons (or velcro)
  • A sewing machine
